My name is Dave Marshall. I had the honour of serving in the British Army for twelve years, much of it as a Physical Training Instructor. Additional details about my army career can be read here but let’s just say that when it comes to ensuring military fitness standards are achieved I know my stuff.
The techniques I use at LMF are taken directly from my time as a PTI so you can rest assured that the training you receive is authentic and effective. While I make no apology for how challenging the workouts are, I take care to tailor activities for each person’s level of fitness and ability. To that end, all LMF participants are required to complete a health questionnaire before taking part.
I understand that committing yourself to regular physical exercise is a daunting prospect. If it were easy, everyone would be fit. But they’re not. And only you can make it happen.
My commitments to you are that:
- I will be there, twice a week, come rain or shine
- I will motivate you the same successful way I have motivated thousands of soldiers in the British Army
- I will vary the programme appropriately to ensure it is always challenging and fun
- You will notice the difference
The rest is going to be up to you. And it begins with getting in touch.

Time-served PTI professional
A good number of so-called ‘military fitness’ programs are run by ex-forces personnel who were not Physical Training Instructors. LMF is.
LMF prides itself on motivating its participants. We celebrate their milestones and track their progress.
All LMF participants say how much they get out of the camaraderie at LMF sessions. This team ethos is celebrated at regular social events.
All weathers, two times a week
Numerous studies prove the benefits of outdoor exercise over indoors. And you can be sure that, whatever the weather, LMF is always on.
Went for my 1st session tonight and I loved it! Everyone was really friendly and gave lots of encouragement through the dreaded burpees, think I might be achy tomorrow but can’t wait for next week!
Can’t fault the classes they are amazing, hard work but so worth it! I always look forward to going! Dave’s a great motivator and the atmosphere in the class is great everyone supports each other! 🙂
Two days on and I’m still sore from the session, but in a good way. Team ethos was brilliant and so much more fun than an hour inside a gym. Just the right balance of competition and collaboration.
Great classes tailored for all. Friendly atmosphere, good value and a good variety of exercises. I recommend this to anyone wanting to improve their fitness or keep fit in a fun and motivating atmosphere. Don’t be afraid, come give it a try!
I was a little nervous going as I am very out of shape but I was instantly reassured when I got there. The exercises are tailored to whether you are a beginner or advanced so no matter your fitness you can join in. I would definitely recommend it.
….After trying the gym, swimming, running and other classes, LMF is by far my favourite way to get fit! Great group of people, always have a laugh despite being worked very hard by an amazing trainer!! Thanks Dave, see you next week!!
